Jewellery Design involves students learning to develop knowledge and skills in the use of materials, tools and techniques related to art metalwork and jewellery making. In this course students design, make and create a range of sterling silver jewellery while learning about some aspects of metal work. This is a practical subject that requires some creativity and resilience. Projects undertaken are chosen to promote the sequential development of skills and reflect an increasing degree of student autonomy as they progress throughout the course. Students develop fine motor skills and make some intricate wearable pieces, with a particular focus on rings.
