Religion and Ethics

NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.

During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.

You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.
Visit the department’s website for more information about religion and ethics.

Parents/caregivers in public schools have the right to have their children receive instruction in their preferred religious persuasion, where authorised teachers of that persuasion are available.

A special religious education program is available at the school and is run by authorised volunteers of approved religious persuasions.

Below is the list of approved special religious education programs provided at the school for 2019. A link from each provider is listed to access information regarding the provider's curriculum scope and sequence.

Option 1:    Catholic SRE

Option 2:    Combined Christian SRE using Anglican curriculum

Students not attending SRE will be provided with supervised alternative activities. This could include reading, private study or completing homework.

Students continue in the same arrangement each year, unless a parents/caregivers as requested a change in writing. At any time, parents/caregivers have the right to change the SRE nominations or to withdraw their child from the nominated lessons. A note to the Deputy Principal will affect this change.
