Information Software Technology
The study of Information and Software Technology assists students to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to solve problems by the use of computer technology.

The course is made up of two sections: The Core and Options that cater for students areas of interest.
The Core provides students with knowledge of past, current and emerging technologies, data, software, hardware and people who work in the field of Information and Software Technology. The study of these areas are integrated into practical project work and class activities.
At least four (4) Options are studied (as determined by the classroom teacher) with projects that provide increasingly sophisticated knowledge, understanding and skills. The Options include:
· Artificial Intelligence (AI), simulation and Modelling
· Authoring and Multimedia
· Database Design
· Digital Media
· Internet and Website Development
· Networking Systems
· Robotics and Automated Systems
· Software Development and Programming
Studying Information and Software Technology would help students successfully complete the following senior subjects:
· Industrial Technology – Multimedia
· Design and Technology
· Photography, video and digital imaging (CEC)
Roles and responsibilities of people working in the Information and Software Technology field include: project manager, data entry operators, systems analyst, users, technicians such as repair and maintenance, multimedia specialists, software engineers, support staff such as help desk, training specialists and programmers.
